June 4, 2010I enjoyed photographing this family of four earlier in the week (although, I missed their fifth… woody the dog!).

I had a great time walking around, chatting and chatching up with this sweet family. I love the special bond between them. The beautiful girls are the younger sisters of one of my favorite friends. It doesn’t seem that long ago that they were running around our dorm in footie jammies and decorating my make up case with stickers!
Jessica Kelly: As always, you did a fantastic job capturing the essence of my wonderful family. I know they loved being photographed by you. I still see them as those little kids in footie pjs; makes me feel so old!!!
dianna douglass: KATY!!! i can't wait to see the rest of these! i thin downtown franklin was indeed the perfect place for us to go!...and it really wasn't that long ago that they were running around your dorm in footie pjs with sparkle stickers!!!!
Fun at the park- anyone from around here knows which one! I’m pretty sure the last image could be a “Visit Nashville” poster. I loved the late afternoon light and spending time with this family on a warm spring evening.
Lisa M Anderson: Beautiful pictures of beautiful children. And I think I agree with you about that last picture - Nasvhvillw Tourism should buy that one from yoU!!!
elizabeth priddy: omg. I love the last one!! awesome!!

James Henry, Eli and I have been at the beach with the grandmothers. We had a great time but were heart broken over the devastation back home in Tennessee. Clint called with updates and reports from our house and thankfully we had no flood damage. We are praying for those who did, and are ready to help our fellow Nashvillians.
I’m so grateful for clean water. My heart is heavy from the flooding here, and the oil spill in the Gulf. Our friends at La Providencia in Honduras are having trouble with their clean water well and also fighting fires. We are praying- and Eli is doing his part to conserve- Taking a sink bath instead of filling up the whole tub. I love a socially responsible baby!

Cator-Woolford was the perfect backdrop for Matt and Rachel’s Atlanta garden wedding. Gorgeous florals by SGS designs complimented the lush green setting. The Tech trolley, Lynchberg lemonade, Southern belles in blue, and azaleas in bloom… I love a spring wedding in the south! See a slide show sneak peek of their BIG day by clicking here and then on the “Matt and Rachel” tab. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bine!
Heather Sisemore: Oh Katy...these are so good! Love the picture of the tent....wow, just wow!
Alice Remble: What a fabulous wedding, everything was just beautiful and you look wonderful my darling. If I ever renew my vowls, I want it to be there. Much Love Alice "Tina's Turn"
elizabeth: these are amazing. great job
cindy: these are fabulous katy! such gorgeous work!
I had the privilege of photographing Rachel and Matt’s lovely Atlanta garden wedding this weekend. Looking forward to posting more images soon!
Dad: Outstanding, must take after her mother
betsy: Rachel's eyes are beautiful. She was such an elegant bride!!
Debby "Mother-in-law": These are the most fabulous wedding photos I have ever seen! Rachel should be on the front cover of Bride Magazine. This would make a fabulous bridal spread. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This was the most memorable event in my life! Congratulations Rachel and Matthew

Clint and I loved visiting the families in the village of Aguas del Padre. We shopped at the Lenca potters hut and visited family friends of the Hollidays with a sugar cane mill. It’s harvest season for the cana and it was so special to watch the family work together at the press. (Beatriz and Mario, house one parents)
(their biological children Jose Mario, and Loida)

A family portrait! My hope is that this image hanging on the wall of their home will be a visual reminder to the sweet orphans that they belong to a family.
House two parents- Elsy and Orlando - They have one biological son that Elsy is holding in the family portrait below (not Jair in the red hat but Esdras,in the blue)

I am often overwhelmed with sorrow for all of the suffering in the world. I can relate to ol’ Johnny Cash, the man in black, who vowed to wear the dark color as a reminder of the pain, until Jesus came back. 147 million (orphans) is a much larger number than I can wrap my mind around. However, I was filled with joy this morning as I sat organizing these images because Josue, Dagoberto, Julissa, Carolina, Jair, Alama, Douglas, Kenneth and Fanny are no longer forgotten, abandoned, or institutionalized. Thank you Jesus for La Providencia, the Holliday family, the house parents, workers, and supporters of PWM that are commited to loving your precious children. My hope for the Portrait of Providence project is to give hope by shining a light on His grace and mercy, administered through believers. Onward Christian soldiers!
