Clint and I recently traveled to Siguatepeque, Honduras to visit our friends Israel and Hollie Holliday  who with their 4 children are serving as missionaries through Providence World Ministries. Israel is the Director of La Providencia which oversees two orphan homes, a school that educates at-risk children and a medical clinic.

The purpose of our trip was to provide the orphan homes at La Providencia with family portraits. Our hope is that the portraits will serve as a concrete reminder of God’s providence in their lives and as a visual reminder to the orphans that they are now part of a family. I also had the privilege of taking school pictures, and my favorite part of the trip was going into the village of Aguas Del Padre and offering family portraits.

As we visited the homes in the village, it became apparent that we would need to provide a way for them to display their portraits. Our goal is to gift each family with a standout mount that is durable and completely ready to hang without the need of glass frames.  Our fundraising goal is $500 and if each of you donates $10 - $20, we will be able to send these portraits to the families.

It is our prayer that the portraits show the love and kindness of Christ Jesus and further strengthens the relationships the Holliday’s have been working to establish with the families in the village. The portraits are an amazing tool for evangelism and the perfect calling card for inviting them to church.

I am currently working on a photo essay to shine a spotlight on the Holliday’s work in an effort to bring awareness and financial support to their ministry. The photos will be submitted to an organization called PhotoPhilanthropy which aims to create social change through photography. I look forward to sharing more with you concerning this endeavor as it progresses.
