This little guy  loves his golf club. He is really good, check out that back swing! I just know that someday I will be watching the Masters and they will show this image from when he started playing at 19 months!

Some portraits of my family from a recent session with Brandi Pitts. We decided (well, I decided) that we should swap family portraits. I am afraid that I get the good end of the deal here, as I consider Brandi’s work to be awesome! I think that it speaks for it self, but I cannot say enough about her beautiful, selfless spirit. Brandi and I met when she allowed me to tag along to a friends newborn session. I was just starting my business and was basically spying on her. She could have seen me as competition and politely declined but instead she has done nothing but help me since. I respect and admire her as a photographer and I’m inspired by her generosity. It is more than a blessing to have a friend “in the business”. She prays for me and my sessions: artistically, financially and what it means to be a momtog (mom and a photographer). I definitely do the same for her. That is the greatest tool that I have in my camera bag… Prayers! It is so fun to share client joys (and nightmares), tips, successes and failures, blogs, and web sites with each other. She is what I would consider to be a super-momtog as she gave birth to twins less than four months ago! They already have a precious three year old, so that is three under three people! All girls. Wow, she can still think straight enough to create such beautiful images! Very impressive.

Family Portraits

April 26, 2009

I love, love my family. The best part of my job  is celebrating how much other people love their families too. It is such a joy to capture and create art about something that I, myself, am so passionate about. I am grateful for every mom, dad and child that I have the pleasure of meeting. It is an honor to be a guest in their homes and have a peek into their world. I tear up with every gallery that I create and that is not just my pregnancy hormones (well, maybe just a bit of those)!

It seems like yesterday that I was going to meet this sweet baby in the hospital! I cannot believe that he is TWO, and I have so enjoyed watching him grow. He is one of my James Henry’s favorite friends, and his mom is one of mine!

Here are a few more from Mr. Perfect’s newborn session. A big thank you to his family for honoring my request to turn up the heat in their home. We were all roasting, but sweet baby Jac slept like a… well, a baby!

I look forward to posting more images from todays newborn session. The sweetest, sweetest baby any photographer could ever hope to meet! He is just perfect in every way. This one caught my eye and I could not resist sharing it. I am off to bed, I need my rest for nursery duty in the morning… Easter Sunday nursery duty, YIKES!

One of my favorite clients gathered her entire family for a portrait party (isn’t Elmo a part of all of our families?!). What a great idea for Mother’s Day gifts!

This week I am in Douglasville, Georgia for a working visit. I love meeting families from my hometown. These three girls kept me laughing! I loved seeing their unique personalities. Can you guess who has a flair for the dramatic?! Each was as sweet as the other. bl5
